My fellow Americans, in the wake of this new financial crisis that we face, I come before you with a heavy heart. There have been many accusations flying around in recent days blaming our move to offload our stocks. We as managers are given the hard task of ensuring that the resources placed in our custody flourish. We face difficult situations every day that sometimes result in us making unpopular decisions. No matter how unpopular our decisions might be however, it should be noted that we never carry them out with ill intentions at heart. Our great nation’s fathers had a great vision for our people. This vision was cemented in the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is in times of great adversity such as the one we find ourselves in that our resolve to this vision is tested. Our resolve should not be to point fingers of blame but to come together and forge a new path and ensure the continuity of the American dream.

Our great country leads the rest of the world in innovation and entrepreneurship not because we have better minds, but because we have the courage to make difficult choices. Standing idly by would have betrayed this sacred trust. If you were stakeholders and I was managing your portfolio, would you have had me do things differently? We however realize that the coming months will take a toll on many people and we are ready to provide any assistance to ensure the markets bounce back sooner rather than later. With the same diligence and foresight, we promise to help in the rebuilding efforts. All we ask from you is a little patience and courage and surely we shall overcome. Thank you and yes we can.
