Wollstone has been renowned for her works, which have focused on education and women. She has also been a supporter of equity of woman and men as well as the need for there to be more mixed schooling. She reiterates that national education can be improved in several ways that will ensure that alls sexes are considered. According to her expertise on the topic on education, she strongly believes that enforcing the need for education provided for both male and female children should be top most priority for global nations. For her, this education can be delivered adequately in a setting that is mixed schooling where children can interact with their equals and learn the need to form opinions about themselves through such interactions.

Issues that are delved on in the film include misogyny, violence, and homophobia. According to Byron, the black community has become alienated because of the aforementioned aspects because they have not received reception in the community as compared to other communities. It is evident that from evaluating the film, alienation is considered a result of the limited opportunities for men to express themselves. Especially in the African American community, the men are not supposed to express themselves emotionally, but rather portray themselves as hardcore, murderous people that demean the value of women viewing them as sexual entities that should be objectified. Through this limitation, the African men are provided with a restricted platform for expressing themselves thus their main outlet is to depict themselves as rogue and hardcore which is synonymous with rap music.

Hip-hop allows rappers to emasculate others with derogatory terms that are mainly used on women. This contemporary landscape characterizes the hip-hop culture that alienates the community from the rest of the world. Through the portrayal, that another man is less than another is coined with insults in music hence creating the notion of homophobia and disrespect to women. The extent at which these behaviors affect the community are great in that they manifest themselves as crimes with most African men being killed by what is considered to be “beef”. In essence, it is important to note that this alienation has promoted desensitization of the African American men and the extent to which it has affected the overall outlook of the community.
