From an expert opinion, the plans directed for the next presidential administration should shortly halt the resettlement plan for Syrian refugees due to the imminent concerns forwarded and verified from various political perspectives. U.S should temporarily cordon off its borders. From a political angle, it is important to understand that in the recent past America has resettled an approximated 70, 000 refugees[1]. From this population, 2, 000 persons are of Syrian origin. Based on this, it is clear that America is effectively performing its role as a global leader in comparison to other developed nations[2]. Secondly, resettlement has been misconstrued as alleviating the terror inflicted by terrorist groups such as the ISIS without acknowledging that a prompt solution should be developed and implemented in order to Syrians to remain safe within their country’s borders. In order to manage the increasing resettlement of Syrian refugees prior to the indefinite halting of the resettlement program, as suggested by John Kerry, Secretary of State, there is need to implement a cap that will allows for more controlled settlement to be undertaken.

On matter concerning national security, it is important to acknowledge that there might be inclusion of radical being resettled within the US[3]. The ISIS is a radical Islam group that has executed several bombings and killings in various parts of the world. As indicated by Republicans, there is a grave risk in allowing an influx of large populations of people originating from war torn nations to the US is imperative to elaborate on such issues such as the Boston attacks by the Chechen refugees. It is primarily because of these scenarios that the importance of halting the resettlement should be prioritized[4]. America has met its obligations as a leading global power without the inclusion of other Nations, which also are tasked with the responsibility of assisting refugees from war torn nations. With the 12 million immigrants that have gained illegal access in the US and the predicted 1 million entering the border yearly, it is important for the political leaders to ensure that other nations are also held accountable for resetting refugees in order to alleviate the immense pressure directed to the United States solely.

From a fiscal perspective, it is important to understand the implication of providing asylum for over 10, 000 Syrian refugees as directed by President Obama as means of ensuring safety to this population[5]. Based from an economical standpoint, this population will require amenities such as food, shelter, and medical care, essentials that will be tasked on to the American government for fulfillment. Owing to the fact that the US is in a $19 trillion debt status, translating to the reality that the State might struggle financial in catering to the need of American citizens by taking on this resettlement program.. The effective recommendation that can be directed towards assisting the refugees would be the establishment of encampment to meet their shelter and basic needs as America devise strategies that are considerate of the financial situation of the nation as well as national security. Additionally, the State can urge Syria’s is neighboring nations such as Dubai to take on responsibility of addressing issues happening along their neighbors. According to Ted Cruz, Texas Senator, it would be better for America to ensure that Syrian refugees are resettled humanly in Muslim nations in the Middle Eastern nations in order to not only assist with transition but also reducing the risk of terror attacks on the American soil[6]. Additionally, in order to assist their resettlement process, the government can offer help externally.
