Session 4 Online Task

I would include learning outcome 4 for this learning story. This outcome posits that children are confident and involved learners. They develop learning dispositions such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, and imagination. Some of the skills and processes they develop include inquiry and researching. In addition, children connect with people and natural materials in their learning process (Lorina, 2013). Joey and Jill are curious and this is demonstrated in their ability to see a difference in the clouds. This learning outcome is evidenced by the manner in which the children express wonder in their environment. Joey and Jill are excited about them and they want to have a better look so they go up the hill. Joey’s mother describes his curiosity for nature, which he demonstrates by seeking information with facts. He is interested in researching and investigating (Autralian Government Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace, 2009). He wants to know more about the things he experiences or what he has heard about and he looks for books with details concerning his area of interest at the particular time.

I would also include learning outcome five, which asserts that children are effective communicators. They are able to interact with other people using verbal and non-verbal means. They contribute the ideas they have to others, seek clarity of the information they have and challenge their thinking. They express their feelings and respect the opinions and views of other people (Campbell & Jobling, 2012). Joey communicated to his mother using verbal and non-verbal means. He shouted to her mother, telling her to look at the sky. He then waved his hands in front of her face to get her attention and he pointed to the sky. He communicated to Jill and told him about the clouds. He was able to give enough details about the clouds to rouse Jill’s curiosity
