Question 1

The Bible as the Holy Scripture refers to Christian’s basing on reverence from the word of God in its pure nature as instructions to holy living. The testament is the source of relevance and evidence towards the historical happenings for the teachings. The Old Testament was written by renowned authors like Moses, prophets and divine leaders at around 1400 BC in Jewish. The New Testament was the reverence according to the existence of Jesus Christ. It was written by the Disciples of Christ through prophecies in Jewish. The connection between the Old Testament and New Testament is through teachings and reverence according to present circumstances.

Question 2

Jews believe that God is the creator, administrator, supernatural being, and almighty of the universe. They also believe that Jesus is divine after the resurrection and ascension into heaven. The Holy Spirit is the third members of the holy trinity, which represents the ultimate existence of God. The Christian belief differs from the Jewish on representation of Mohammed as the last prophet while in comparison; Christ is indeed God and the redeemer. Incarnation refers to the rebirth of a new spirit and being after the natural death through the spirit. Christ represents the true essence of incarnation as evidenced through resurrection. Atonement is the reconciliation between God and man. Peter, John the Baptist and Judas were all Christ’s disciples while Mary was his mother.

Question 3

Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom of God was based on salvation. He stated that one had to be re-born again through baptism and believing in God as a true and sure measure of acquiring the eternal life. After his death on the cross and subsequent reception of salvation, all humans have to accept the gospel through atonement with God and live holy lives in order to achieve the kingdom.

Christian ethics refer to the set of standards, conducts, beliefs, and teachings as exemplified by Christ’s teachings through living. They refer to the manner of conduct, existence with other people in life, impact of their deliverance to the non-believers and overall function of salvation within the society. Saints according to the Christians refer to the individuals who have exceptional holiness and likeness to God through actions and lifestyles. The virtues exemplified are based on holy living and selflessness. Virtues are exhibited by love, joy, peace, patience, humility, and grace and having mercy. Examples include Luke, Mark, and John.

Catholic and apostolic refer to the two denominations from the traditional times. The latter is protestant. The Catholic Church was established from the historical time of the Roman Empire in the beginning periods of Christianity. The Catholic Church is referred to the name due to its distinguished features and belief in the pope’s supremacy. The apostolic church was established after the welsh revival and its name is born from the practices, institution and teachings on discipleship of Christ. The Christians were persecuted before 313 AD because of their faih and belief in holiness of God. The edict of Milan was responsible for legalization of Christianity and eventually became a statute in the Roman Empire. The seven sacraments refer to catholic teaching on Christ’s institution and entrusted to the church. The differences between the eastern orthodox and western catholic churches were due to universal jurisdiction, source of the Holy Spirit and use of unleavened bread in Eucharist. Protestant churches are churches different from catholic and include Anglican, Lutheran, and Pentecostal. The differences between protestant and catholic churches are the universality of the pope, scripture, saints, celibacy, and catechism.
