The introduction of this paper is informative in terms of explaining the topic under consideration. It mentions the issue, which is educating families about use of morphine in hospice patients. This provides a general idea into the topic of study. In addition, the thesis statement comes in as the last sentence in the introduction paragraph. However, it fails in explaining the whole paper considering the following paragraph starts with the Change Model Overview that is not mentioned in the introduction. This alters the flow and transitioning of the paper from introduction to the main body. This can be improved by including a sentence about the six step model that will be used in implementing the change. More improvement can come from adding some compelling evidence concerning morphine or even asking rhetorical questions (Nicholas & Gordon, 2011).

In addition, the change model needs to be put in the thesis statement considering the whole body of the paper is divided into six paragraphs, each representing every step. The thesis is clear about what should be done as well as when. However, it fails to mention the model, which is a main part in the body part.

The organization of the body is the main strength of this paper. It addresses the change model from the first step to the last. This organization allows the reader to follow through with ease. In addition to the organization, each paragraph is introduced by a sentence explaining the step. For instance, the first paragraph has a statement explaining that the first step is about determining whether or not change is needed (Pipe, Wellik, Buchda, Hansen & Martyn, 2005). The following sentence answers this by indicating that change is needed.

In addition to organization, the argument placed in the body is in light of the introduction concerning education of families and patients. It is also based on evidence concerning use of morphine. The argument is within historical and legal contexts, where it mentions the myths held by patients concerning morphine and legal issues occurring due to its use. However, to appreciate the paper and its thesis, one needs to know more about the use of morphine in hospice patients. Specifically, it would be important to know the kind of myths that patients have when it comes to its use. This would help in understanding why it is important to have this education. In addition to knowing the myths, providing information it would benefit the reader to have some statistics concerning its use in hospice compared to other care.

The summary of the article provides some reasons why it is important to educate families and patients on use of morphine. In addition, it provides one of the myths that cause reluctance in use of morphine by patients. This is very important in explaining why patients need to learn about use of morphine. This can also be improved by mentioning the change model that is utilized. It would benefit the reader who looks at the summary before reading since he or she will have a full idea of everything to expect.

When it comes to evidence, the paper does provide enough. However, citing the references within the paper does not concur with the APA format. For instance, in the second paragraph of the body, the paper cites the date at the end while it should come after the name. It can also be in parenthesis where both name and date appear at the end of the quote. In the third paragraph of the body, the paper mentions about an article in the Journal of Palliative Medicine that describes use of morphine. It would improve the paper to cite the author and date of the article specifically to avoid ambiguity. This would enable the reader to get the source with ease. In the same paragraph, there is a quote with a citation in parenthesis. However, instead of citing the specific page number from which the quote is taken, the paper cites all the pages within which the article appears in the journal. This is supposed to be done at the reference page that is separate from the body. The referencing of the sources at the end of the paper is in accordance with APA formatting except for a few such as the last one that needs the title italicized. The second last does not need to have the DOI and the journal title should also be italicized. Finally, the sources need to be arranged in alphabetical order. The subheadings are in the right format, centered but need to be in bold (Great Britain, 2011).
