My Chicago Trip

I had always longed to visit Chicago, and when my parents decided to go on vacation, I quickly suggested the state as a destination. When we landed, we first visited the Lincoln Park Zoo. The tour guides were quite friendly, and had no qualms about answering all our questions. I remember at one point I got lost and started looking for my parents. A woman who had accompanied her five-year-old son, who noticed that I seemed lost, approached me and took me to the Zoo’s main office and she kept me company before the zoo staff located my parents. It is hard to believe that a total stranger could show so much kindness to a tourist without expecting anything in return. As we talked she mentioned that there were always tourists visiting, and the likelihood of encountering lost tourists was high.

One of the most memorable moments was during the visit to Skydeck Chicago, on the Willis Tower. There were many tourists lining up to enter the building in order to enjoy the view. There is nothing as exciting as being able to view four states at ago while on top of a building. The place requires one to purchase tickets for access, which should be done prior to the visit. John, the youngest sibling had been sickly all morning, and had a slight fever, which he decided to ignore. Just as we got to the top floor, he collapsed, his fever running high. A man, and his wife, who were evidently locals helped us get him to hospital in their car. To date, none of the family members comprehends how friendly and accommodative the Chicago natives are to tourists. It is definitely one of the best and safest destinations to visit for a vacation. It is another home away from home.
