The Sources of Soviet Conduct is a publication based on the previous version of the Long Telegram by Kennan. The ideologies emphasized in this article are important in analyzing the anti-communism movement in the United States during the Cold War as well as the objectives of the Soviet Union. Furthermore, regimes that followed Truman’s government used Kennan’s concept as the main approach of suppressing communism. This resulted in its successful containment in 1989 (Keenan 31).
