Part One

Parental responsibility laws are important in any person’s upbringing where the laws provide insight on how parents should react when experiencing challenging situation regarding their families. In modern society, parents tend to ignore their roles and blame technology and the government for the increase in teenage crime. In this case, I think parents should be held responsible in case their children are found to have violated the law. It is the responsibility of the parents to educate their children on the importance of adhering to the law and staying clear of any criminal activities. The prevalent nature of teenage crime owes credit to the failure of parents to spend ample time teaching values and educating the teenagers on the benefits of upholding positive values and the consequences of crime. When I was a kid, my parents spent enough time teaching values through punishment and if I wronged, then it would be ignorance on my part. My parents would not be held responsible.

Part Two

There are different effects when incarcerated mothers are allowed to raise their children in prison. Most of these effects are seen on the part of the children who will have to face harsh experiences and conditions while with their mothers or without them. Children who grow without their mothers are likely to be adopted by a family that will domestically abuse them through violence and brutal treatment. The children are likely to experience poverty and malnutrition since they will have to work under harsh conditions. Nonetheless, if children grow with their incarcerated mother, they will not have to switch homes frequently, which will accelerate stability in them. By living with their mothers, children can acquire first hand lessons and care. They will understand the consequences of crime through the experiences shared by their mothers.
