In the recent times, Ford Motor Company has been categorized as one of largest automobile production company globally. It is located in Detroit, Michigan. The company has faced intense competition from other powerhouses in the Automobile industry. One of its major competitors is General Motors. It is valid to state that the company has been built on strong core ethics and values that have continuously catapulted it to its top ranks in the industry. Additionally, due to its high receptivity to technological advancement, it has retained its position through the production of models such as the Taurus and Mustang. Lastly, it provides a great working environment for its workers as well as salary packages hence being ranked amongst ethical companies in the world. A review on the work ethics of the company will further support the validity of the company’s core values.

Corporate responsibility is highly considered in Ford Motor Company with the prime aspect being ensuring the wellbeing of its employees. This has led to the awarding of the company by reputable establishments such as Ethisphere Institute. This is justified by the imperative initiatives it has adopted in its organizational framework. One of the initiatives is offering training to its employees on how to deal with global complaints. Secondly, the company provides an ethic training programmes in 13 languages, available to all its workers. Lastly, the employees are provided with a hotline, which is online 24 hours daily in case of emergencies or complaints.

According to Ford’s ethics, the workforce is a primary aspect in determining the progress of the company. This is exemplified in the Ford vs. Dodge cases. In the case, Ford increased the cost of employees while cutting down the costs of the cars manufactured. His action was driven by the need to create more employment and empower his workers to build their home and lives through pouring the profits made into the automobile production. The Dodge brothers were minor shareholders in the company and held the opinion that the charitable intentions of the founder were unsound hence filed the case. It is evident that Ford created the company on the core value of corporate responsibility and involvement of the community. However, the first mistake made in this decision was undermining the power of the minority shareholders due to his continued lowering of car prices. However, empowering his workers with fiscal stability was considered a charitable and admirable action.

Through undermining the rule of shareholder wealth maximization, Ford illustrated consideration to Worker Right’s as outlined on the law of corporate responsibility. The ethical standing of the company has contributed immensely to its success as it continuously creates job opportunities and prospers as a multibillion-dollar powerhouse.
