Effective Policy Proposal

There have been recent debates over the proposed changes on America’s immigration policies. Change in immigration policies in the United States would provide an effective means of dealing with unauthorized entry, drug and human trafficking and arms sales. Reports indicate that there is a large of immigrants who are unaccounted for upon their entry into the country and are suspected to be engaged in illegal activities such as drug sale, money laundering, and sale of arms to sustain themselves and their families in the united states. In addition, illegal immigration is responsible for increased gang and gun violence in the country and competition for meager resources such as employment and social amenities.

The proposed policy focuses on ensuring enhanced border security as a means of dealing with the importation of violence from neighboring countries such as Mexico.  The drug and illegal arms trade has been responsible for the prevailing violence in Mexico and its gradual entry into American soil. The proposed policy will provide for enhanced levels of security checks by increase in allocation of resources such as personnel, equipment, and finances as a means of dealing with the high levels of illegal order crossings. This will provide an immediate reprieve to illegal entry by migrants into the United States.

In addition, the policy would also seek to make arrests of individuals who are evidently responsible for crimes in the country and pose a serious security threat to America and its citizens. Furthermore, this is also inclusive of individuals whop have made recent border crossings. In addition, this would also include the establishment of a public awareness campaign aimed at sensitizing the public to ensure that they all understand the importance of legalized registration of persons. Undocumented individuals who are the United States may become permanent residents of the United States only if they have successfully started families while in the country. The family members should be born in the United States to qualify being permanent residents of the country.

On the other hand, it is important to note of the potential of human rights abuses and corruption amongst law enforcement agencies as they seek to actualize these proposed changes. In addition, it is noted that illegal immigrants in the United States have played a significant role in reducing the availability of employment opportunities to American citizens given that they are willing to work for low pay. It is also noted that a majority of illegal immigrants who gain entry into the United States usually have an express intention of creating families as a means of achieving permanent residency and citizenship.

Introducing new measures would ensure that Americans are able to compete in healthy environment for employment and business opportunities. Reports indicate that a large number of illegal immigrants have taken up employment positions and business opportunities without any form of experience, qualification and licensing to undertake such activities. In addition, proposed amendments to Immigration Laws in the country should also focus on establishing mechanisms that would ensure a fair and objective process that take into account individual history and capabilities, which may contribute positively to the American society.

Furthermore, the proposed policies should also ensure swift response towards the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in the United States. This can be achieved by enhancing the levels of confidentiality and analyses in respect to individual profile and reasons for fleeing a home country. Furthermore, enhanced evaluations should focus on establishing the authenticity and appropriateness of a fear of persecution due to individual political affiliation, race, religious group, and sexual orientation.
