Tony Soprano experiences challenges in ensuring a balance and consistency in his relationships with family members and managing the criminal organization. He has tumultuous relationships with some family members such as his wife Carmela, his two children, and his mother. The criminal activities of Tony Soprano, through his organization, play a critical role in his hostile behavior that is manifested through panic attacks, depression, infidelity, and anger (Kaslow, 1996). From a systemic perspective, it is important to understand the presence of the complex interconnections and interactions between the individual and the rest of the family members. I would be inclined to work with all family members such that they are able to iron out issues that bring about dysfunctional associations. The problems are not centered on the individual; rather they are because of complexities between interconnections amongst the family members.

Some themes include behaviors of dissociation, interactions between family members in dysfunctional families, traits of dysfunctional families, and their members.

Question 3

The problems manifested would shift from the main party to the rest of the family members. Issues to be discussed would include the communication strategies, unresolved issues, and factors or triggers that give rise to conflicts (Kaslow, 1996).

Question 4

I would employ an emotional appeal by telling them to provide support to their father as he gets the help he needs. Subsequently, the focus would shift to the entire family as they work on their communication styles and resolving preexisting issues.

Question 5

Key dynamics include culture, which determines interdependence and individuality, family size or model such as extended family that is utilized by the sopranos. This provides an understanding of the complex interconnections between family members (Kaslow, 1996).

Question 6

The sopranos have a different culture. My dissimilarity would not be an impediment towards the provision of treatment. I would be inclined to understand the dynamics of the family by learning underlying issues and cultural values, which influence interactions amongst family members (Kaslow, 1996).
