Secondly, management of innovation in the age of information technology has assumed center stage for modern entities as it provides a means of becoming profitable, ensuring sustainable business practices, cost reduction, and achievement of competitive advantage. Thirdly, strategic management in the global marketplace is also an issue of concern for a majority of organizations given the scarcity of capable and qualified managers or subordinate employees to management resources in the modern organization. Effective strategic management may provide a means of achieving set out goals and objectives such as profitability, growth, expansion, competitive advantage, and differentiation in the global marketplace (Leslie, Chandrasekar, & Barts, 2009).

The character and values adopted by a leader are usually reflected and subsequently adopted by the employees in the organization (Senge, 2010). The transformative leader is usually effective in creation of a shared vision in the organizational teams by enabling them to understand the goals and objectives of the organization. Creation of shared vision, ideas, values, and beliefs in the organization is critical towards enabling respect and trust amongst members of the organizational teams. in addition, this affirms the importance of all members of the team in contributing towards achievement of set out strategic goals and objectives.
