Criminal Justice

National Association of Social Workers plays an important role in providing social services to incarcerated individuals in the United States (Wilson, 2010). Social work forms an integral part of the criminal justice system in the United States. Social workers in criminal justice systems are frontline staff who assume positions such as administrators in correctional facilities and support facilities. Another organization firmly involved in the criminal justice system in the United States is the Constitutional Rights Foundation tasked with advocating for advancement of the criminal justice system as a means of dealing with the evolution of crime in the United States.

The Constitutional Rights Foundation has been involved in furthering civic education among the youth in the United States. Providing them with civic information and their respective rights as provided in the constitution enhances their ability to advocate for themselves and for others who may be deemed as vulnerable to exploitation (Croddy, & Hayes, 2012). In addition, National Association of Social Workers is also tasked with enhancing the rights of incarcerated individuals by providing them with education on their respective rights and how they can be best served during their periods of incarceration.

The Constitutional Rights Foundation has been enhancing the levels of civic and criminal law knowledge among the youth by providing free seminars and conferences (Croddy, & Hayes, 2012). This is an effective means of providing the youth with vital information of their constitutional rights and evolving legislation pertaining to the changing faces of crime in the American society and the world as w hole. Criminal justice knowledge is essential and integral to the legal system in the united states as it involves a variety of issues such as security in the country; the rights of citizens either adults or minors and immigrants; as well as the issues relative to equitable justice in the united states. On the other hand, the National Association of Social Workers is tasked with provision of justice within correctional facilities for incarcerated individuals. The entity is constantly working towards enhancing safety and improved working conditions for workers in correctional facilities and the entire criminal justice system.

The two entities have seemingly adopted the symbolic interaction theoretical framework towards interaction with the society and those within their reach as a means of enhancing the level of impact with respect to criminal justice in the United States. The Constitutional Rights Foundation interacts with students as a means of enhancing civic knowledge with respect to constitutional rights amid changing tact of the criminal world. This theoretical framework indicates that society and people develop as a result of their respective social interactions. The National Association of Social Workers emphasizes on the role of social work towards influencing changes in policies in program planning and delivery of services in the criminal justice system in the United States (Wilson, 2010). This can be termed as a functionalist theoretical approach given it is geared towards provision of services in the criminal justice system in the United States.

The two entities have adopted a functionalist approach given the emphasis on the role of criminal justice towards security, fairness and equal rights for all people irrespective of race, background, gender and orientation. In addition, the focus on enhancement of equality as a means of providing the public with avenues for abiding with existing laws. The Constitutional Rights Foundation plays an important role in providing youth with education on their constitutional mandates as citizens of the United States. Such education enhances their ability to abide to existing laws and in turn curbing the levels of crime in the United States.
