Yoga is considered a physical and mental discipline, which involves a spiritual aspect of its delivery, believed to have originated in India as per the ancient periods. The goals, practices and school varieties of the exercise are divergent especially in Buddhism, Hinduism, as finally Jainism. The most famous types and well- known of the practice are Raja and Hatha yoga. There are various benefits associated with the actualization of yoga in any individual’s life. In the first instance, yoga helps in all- round fitness as it encompasses a balance of the physical, mental and spiritual requirements in human body. Since it is a dynamic exercise it helps express the life of a person. Yoga is also exemplary in delivering weight loss. Yoga acts as a stress reliever on accumulated levels as well as having the ability to create inner peace. It is an immunity booster as the seamless capacity of the body, spirit and mind are in synchrony. In addition, it has the benefit of generating a greater awareness in the human body.

My first encounter with yoga was three months ago. I decided to undertake the session after several convincing attempts by my friends. They had deliberated on the various benefits it had. The main learning curve from the initiation bit to enhancement was the ability to listen to my body, be in touch with the spirit and being aware of the mind’s capability throughout. I had to comprehend the concerns of the physical body under any form of tension, pressure and external interference. Generating inner calmness and mental ease was a mind- opening experience that I will never forget as it helped liberate my inner being. Despite the first session being a new testimony, it was informative and beneficial.
