Question 1

The University of San Diego is a catholic institution of higher education. It is driven by the need to prepare and develop compassionate and ethical leaders which are driven by the need to inspire changes in society. The University of San Diego will enable me to develop and achieve a high level of self awareness with respect to my capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. Self awareness is important in modern organizations is it amounts to understanding individual aptitude levels, aspirations and interests.  The University of San Diego is driven by the need to enable individuals to understand their strengths and weaknesses and how self-awareness can enable individuals change society.

The University of San Diego emphasizes on developing individual ethics and morality. This is important given that I would like to become an industrial manager using the professional qualifications that I will achieve from the university of San Diego and Arizona State University. Self-awareness, ethics and a high sense of morality are effective traits towards developing a modern leader. Modern leaders are driven by values such as honesty, transparency, equity, humility and assertiveness to driven an organization and staff to achieve predetermined goals.

The University of San Diego offers a humanistic and individualistic approach towards instruction and interactions with the students drawn from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. This is important for me given that it will enhance my interactions with other students, and more so with the instructors. Developing a positive relationship with instructors is important for me given that I am able to follow on classroom activities and seek out help for tasks that I deem beyond my scope. In light of such, I think that I will be able to develop exceptional social and interpersonal skills for use in my line of employment. Combining social skills, ethics and compassion is effective towards success in any position of employment and more so to effect social changes.

Question 2

The University of San Diego is one of the most prominent institutions in the united states because of is strong values and commitment towards social and individual change. The commitment of the institution is highlighted by its mission and vision statement that is provided as “advancing academic excellence, expanding liberal and professional knowledge, creating a diverse and inclusive community, and preparing leaders dedicated to ethical conduct and compassionate service”.  From such one can easily note that the entity is not limited towards advancing individual levels of academic excellence but rather expands towards enhancing diversity in terms of individual knowledge that can be used to induce social change.

Furthermore, the entity highlights its core values as academic excellence, a strong Christian message entrenched in the Roman Catholic Church, advancement of intellectual development to aid changes in the community. Such strong values are among the primary reasons that I selected the University of San Diego. A strong Christian foundation would enable me to achieve a high level of ethical and moral standards in my future line of employment.

Furthermore, I find that intellectual development is a high priority at the university which is also a high priority issue in my selections. Ethical judgement and behavior by institutional staff and the students is observed as a means of creating an environment of academic and professional integrity. This eliminates issues such as biased instruction and delivery of services to the students. From such, I find that the University of San Diego is a perfect fit for my educational and personal beliefs about modern institutions of higher learning and professional conduct.
