Introduction

Urban sustainability involves urban setting that is capable of meeting the needs of the present without having to sacrifice the future generations’ abilities in meeting their own needs. The idea associated with organization in the urban setting requires little or no reliance on surrounding countryside and is able to use renewable energy sources to power itself. The aim is in production of the lowest pollution quantities possible while creating the smallest ecological footprint. In addition, land is efficiently used, recycling of waste and its conversion to energy while increasing the urban overall contribution to climate change at the very least possible forms. There is no completely agreed upon explanation or definition to the outlook of a sustainable city, but adhered practices can be enforced to achieve it. Since settlement takes up the land use, majority of the planning should ensure expansive designs that use height other than distances are implemented. It can halt the rural to urban migration, which is responsible for the sprawling of urban environments.
