The Implications of Ignoring Death

Indeed, it is impossible to ignore the disparaging effects of death. After all, death is a rather distasteful subject among human beings. Since the inception of man, the topic of demise has always elicited negative reactions among men and women alike. Kübler-Ross (2014) notes that matters involving death have always elicited controversial implications among people. This is due to the reasoning that the respective event is impossible in relation to the human life, at least within the unconscious. Simply, it is hard to imagine that there is a situation meant specifically for purposes of ceasing human life on earth. Despite the distasteful nature of death, one cannot simply ignore or avert the fact that it exists. On the other hand, society has changed the individual perceptions associated with death with focus placed on the masses and the population numbers rather than the single person (Kübler-Ross, 2014).

Because of this intrusion, the man seeking to ignore or avert death has become rather fearful of the process. The destructive contributions arising from science and technology have forced man to fear the thought of death as well as obliteration increasingly. Hence, in an attempt to deny the respective occurrence, man will be more inclined to cease from mastering death itself. As such, he or she may avert from participation in safety and determination to protect his or her life from the event. Significant ignorance to the reality of death will cause the man to limit his or her defenses from situations or circumstances that may actually endanger his or her life. However, the fact is that one cannot ignore the presence of death. For every individual, death is an event that will occur irrespective of aversion.
