Over the years, the issue of racial difference has existed across different lines. Philosophers have often associated the prevalence of this condition to the different cultural views that are associated with the various races. However, it is possible that some cultures argue against the presence of racial segregation especially towards the blacks considering the improved nature of habitation and coexistence in different countries. Some relate to the situation only when an incident such as calamity or death is reported as a national concern therefore understanding the issue of devaluation and segregation. Often, people fail to consider the significance of valuing black lives to the economy of U.S and in other sectors. To understand such a phenomenon, it is important that contemporary cultures aim at cultivating customs that will enable them understand the devaluated nature of black lives in the U.S at any particular time without prompt.

Arguably, diligence in the part of U.S citizens is warranted if the nation is to counter the issue of black life devaluation. Considerable efforts have often been placed to ensure that a sustained state of mourning is allowed for black lives in order to sensitize the society of the devaluated nature of the black lives. In the American culture, oblivion is a common aspect especially when it concerns the blacks. With the increased form of devaluation, it is possible that many black people have lost their lives in the hands of the police through brutality and murder. Therefore, most of the protests and mass action through strikes that are allegedly mourning expeditions have often been used by the black community to ravel masses and sensitize on the nature of the system (Rankine para. 3). To some, it appears compelling and convincing that they witness dead bodies in order to come to terms with the prevalent state.

The black community is frequently seen as the minority community in the U.S with no voice. However, oppression and devaluation through the death of a black act as a wake-up call to the blacks that they need to act. As much as the authorities might attempt to cover up for the unwarranted black deaths, the community attempts to raise its voice through highlighting connected issues and situations. It offers them confidence to oppose the system and term it as unfair. Similarly, it is impossible for individuals to raise their voices since they will not be heard. Mass action and activism prompts attentive response fro the government. Based on such a cultural background, confidence is gained after witnessing a dead black body. For instance, the case of Emmet Till, a black teenager in 1955 is viewed as one of the causes of the civil rights movement that brought the black community together to advocate for their rights of fair judgment and trial (Rankine para. 6).

The argument that blacks are considered as savages suffices more than the question of the nature of the U.S. Families of the bereaved often seek justice through approaching the criminal system considering the legality of its nature. However, the system fails to grant the families closure by highlighting the condition of the case such as releasing evidence and publicizing such deaths through the national television (Rankine para. 5). The need to keep private matters and grief alone ensures that the public is sensitized on the situation and the possible causes. Arguably, the American culture normalizes black deaths affirming the possibility of lack of concern. It is engraved in the American culture that black lives do not matter. The perception that black people are merely property is still engraved in the minds of the Americans until they succumb to death is their presence felt.

To others, the American per caption has been steered by the policies, laws, education system and historical elements that are experienced daily. For instance, the justice system is unjust and unfair especially to the blacks. While the white people embrace the advantages of such systems, the blacks suffer under their oppression in search of happiness. In the U.S, black person are often being killed in the street or in their homes by the armed hatred of a fellow American. As much as it may seem normal to the whites, the blacks recognize it as a grown culture that the system fails to provide a remedy (Rankine para. 5). Authorities fail to understand the situation from a different point of view to relate it to devalued treatment against the black culture. In schools and in the streets, the blacks encounter terrorism under the hands of the authorities while implementing the war on drugs. This makes them prone to geographical profiling therefore attracting increased scrutiny and possibility of forced arrest that may lead to unwarranted deaths. It is a method of satisfying the cultural perception that blacks orchestrates most crimes and justice should be enforced.

In 2015, the U.S Charleston church witnessed a shooting orchestrated by a white arguing that the intent was to start a racial war with the blacks. In that year, America had seen a reduction in the deaths of the blacks and with the staunch culture of a decentralized racial system, the desire to create misunderstanding arises. Despite the numerous convictions that were witnessed, the perpetuator was sentenced to death and claims of black extremism against the white women were ignored. A memorial was set to commemorate the lives of the victims bringing together people from different religions and races. This move was as a measure of ascertaining the people that the situation would not divide the black community who will steer for justice. It has also been sensitized by the Black Lives Matter movement that seeks to counter any prejudiced intent (Rankine para. 11). For some, it is a way of raising their voice on the unfairness of the judicial and administrative system that black lives matter only with the occurrence of a crime.

Children form an essential part of the community. However, treating them different warrants negative perception that may grow to become issues of hate. Black people are not innately aggressive or more susceptible to crime than other groups. However, they are more probable to be targeted by police and shot. Similarly, they are liable to attend poor or failing schools therefore changing their perception of the American society and culture. Such social signs place a person at larger possibility of being either a victim or a perpetrator of violent crime therefore prejudiced. Equality tends to promote growth among the children and raises their confidence.

In the contemporary American society, racial discrimination continues to survive among the people causing the loss of black lives and threatening the credibility of families. Although the situation has improved over the years, it is possible that the U.S can ensure it is eliminated in the policies and schools. Black people always live in the big fear, which other people cannot imagine.
