The lobbying activities that would be most effective in creating change within my community would be based on inclusive approach to the subject matter. The inclusive approach would require the community support. It can be generated through using one of the key personnel within the community’s framework. Through the proposal and announcement of the intended changes, the community would view it as one of their own projects and not as imposed on hem from external parties. Secondly, the approach would require positive attitude and development on the responses from the community. The change has to effect positive enablement through problems that affect the community at all levels. In this regard, the community will be interested and responsive to the project being initiated from one of their own. It should highlight the need for changes especially with problems faced and alternative measures after the solution is obtained (Homan, 2007). Finally, the approach would require direct involvement and communication with the community’s leaders and elected officials. For the change to take effect, respective leader have to be involved in the developments. Through communication, the community will be responsive since their representative is also for the idea of require changes. Any form of opposition would be minimal as it is developed from their basis.

A unique collaboration that I would develop in order for the issue addressed is through multi-sector alliance. It is a comprehensive approach to developing solutions to problems within the community basis as developed by partnerships (Adams and Nelson, 2005). The collaboration would require all forms of institution from the commencement and enabled decision-making process to the actualization of the proceedings. The intertwined and complex nature of the community would require cooperation as opposed to competition in order to attain the solutions based on the community’s need. Through the multi-sector collaboration, the ultimate decision-making criteria would return to the community of ordinary people, in order to decide on their own fate. Through the diversity, opinions, leadership provision and expertise lending to face the community problem, the change would be systematic in development throughout. The traditional community leaders would be instrumental in the democratic process of acquiring the desired results and subsequently embrace the change as he community takes their lead. In addition, building of trust would cement the collaboration efforts, as the communicated changes would be positively effected without any struggle from all stakeholders.

In order to maintain an organizational presence, which insures that the efforts are not forgotten, several relevance-based activities would be required. Once the changes have been instrumental in changing of the community, activities that affect the daily lives of the people in the community can be targeted. For example, regular meetings with the community leaders over the issues addressed, problems raised and critical analysis of the implementation goals would be required. In this regard, the changes and any form of updates would be communicated back to the community through the leaders as they have the onus of the people. Secondly, involvement in other spheres of the people’s lives would enhance relevance and make the community not forget the organizational presence. For example, participation in clean up exercises, sports of the community groups, aid in various projects required by the community would be welcome. In the third instance, regular checks and obtaining of feedbacks from any individual would cement the organizational presence at every interval whilst affecting other changes in the community for their benefit.
