Nicolae Ceausescu

            Nicolae Ceausescu was a renowned Communist politician from Romania born in 26 January 1918 and died in 25 December 1989. Having fled from his abusive father, he sought refuge at his sister before becoming an apprentice shoemaker. His involvement with the illegal communist party propelled his Accenture into activities that would shape his character. Initially, he was involved with the smaller tasks before being absorbed into higher demands. At the same time, he faced his first arrest as a teenager. His served his two-year jail term after conviction with an added six months for his contempt of court. After his release, he was re-arrested for conspiracy against the Caransebes social. It is during this period that he formed a circumstantial stance on the country, which would mark his dictatorial tendencies.  

            Nicolae Ceausescu first served as the minister fro agriculture before advancing into the deputy minister in charge of the armed forces. After the loss of the majority leader and president at the time, compromise was made on Ceausescu’s candidature to succeed. His tenure as president was highly dictatorial as evidenced by the brutal and repressive treatment of the people. He controlled the speech and media at all times while internal dissent was not tolerated. In the world, his secret police was renowned as the most brutal and ubiquitous. Due to the country’s large foreign debt, he ordered the export of industrial and agricultural products in excessive measures. The country was faced with shortage in medicine, food, energy, fuel, and necessities of the people. The living standards became deplorable. In addition, he introduced a decree, which restricted any forms of abortion while reducing contraception. Authoritarian and denigrating victimization were also associated with Nicolae Ceausescu.
