High School Project 2

High School Project 2

Boscov’s has an executive training program for graduating seniors (Clarke 38). The trainees are given an opportunity to work with the departments they trained for under an assigned supervisor to whom they performance their appraisals.

It recruits every September in selected universities and colleges (Glen 12). It is a yearlong process and focuses on the topics of strategic thinking, customer service, building partnerships, problem solving and merchandising techniques.

The program creates weekly placements in management of stores to give business experiences (Clemo & Peter 43). Later they give the trainees responsibilities that help them are more exposed building a stronger growth capability for the company and the employees.

Customers commend the company’s phenomenal customer relations and communication. The employees are competent and co-exist quite easily with their fellow co-workers in different department. They are orderly and organized.

As a Chief learning officer, I would introduce a communication and interaction skills class because it is through this class that any trainee can fit in any department (Durang et al. 14). Likewise, they learn the ability to create an understanding with workmates and customers. I would remove the business analysis class because it can be acquired in apprenticeship.

The store has certain security measures such as the use of policies and procedures from those caught. They have surveillance installed and this assist police in the apprehension of lifters

The policies are such that once caught shoplifting, the company gets a record from the offender (Glen 15). The store may choose to exclude someone from any punishment and deny access to store any more. If there is a understanding then, the shoplifters are on high alert.

The alarm goes off when someone tries to leave with an unpaid for item. There are also the use of surveillance and the presence of the security officer to prevent further loss and harm by patrolling and monitoring.

The store makes all the measures aware to the employees to ensure that they know the rules of the system. The employees practice closing, opening and fire escapes often. The company provides loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement. Lastly, it also installs surveillance and assists police with apprehension of shoplifters (Stanish 22).
