Eastern Progress

The Eastern Progress possesses an important role in raising different social issues that the campus community on a daily basis. As a part of the Eastern Kentucky University, the respective campus newspaper highlights a series of articles that provide information on the current events taking place within and outside the campus. In addition, the newspaper is mainly focused on the youth and as such, is an appropriate platform for propagating ideas and opinions in relation to this group. For instance, in one of its recent articles, the Eastern Progress provides a snippet view of the level of student diversity in the campus and the support that the university has applied in relation with this occurrence. Based on this, the Eastern Progress can assume an imperative role in educating the campus community regarding the African American experience. Accordingly, the campus newspaper illustrates new trends and occurrences that take place within the campus environment on a daily basis.

Still on the aspect of student diversity, the Eastern Progress introduced the information by illuminating the groups and activities that students would be interested in after returning to school for the start of the second semester. For instance, the newspaper highlighted the Student Life group and its dedication towards the dissemination and facilitation of student diversity in Eastern Kentucky University (Duncan, 2015). The same manner in which such information was distributed will be the correspondent way in which the Eastern Progress educates the campus community on the African American Experience. By availing information on the events and activities comprising the African American Experience, the campus newspaper can provide relevant information on the significance of such activities in relation to the group at hand and the entire campus community.
