Appeal Letter for Reinstatement

It is with great humility that I write this letter for the sole aim of appealing my academic discharge from your prestigious university. In all honesty, I was surprised yet aware of the reason for this news. Nevertheless, I cannot refrain from feeling depressed and unhappy especially when I am fully aware that the reasons for my dismissal are particularly those that I am incapable of controlling effectively. As such, I would implore you to reinstate me for the coming semester or at least, reconsider my situation and judge accordingly. I admit that I have not exuded commendable performance specifically in the first summer session. Because of this, I am sure that it was in the university’s best interests to dismiss me.

Personally, one of the qualities that appealed to me regarding this institution involved its dedication towards academic success. The prestige of this university is founded on its consistent drive to break boundaries by releasing innovative, smart, and practical individuals into a rather competitive setting. Because of this, I became aware of this fine institution in the first place. The fact that you acknowledged and accepted me proved that I echoed these values. Therefore, the dismissal issued to me is a setback: an aspect that disappoints me considerably.  Foremost, I would like to mention my hard work in the first and second sessions. I was aware of the GPA limit that you had set, which was 2.0. However, because of being incapable of satisfying this score, I was dismissed in the last year. Despite the validity of your reason, I toiled day and night in order to attain my respective score. More specifically, I was capable of receiving an overall GPA of 1.99. This illustrates the extent to which I worked hard in order to gratify the respective score. Regardless of this, I was still discharged from the program.

Nevertheless, I would like you to reconsider your decision for the sole reason that I am a significantly hard worker. Aside from the numerous responsibilities that I have outside the educational setting, I have been capable of concentrating firmly on my studies. In addition to this, I have been consistent in my efforts to produce the best possible results. Even though the outcome for the first session did not quite satisfy the set threshold, it depicted the intense endeavor that I had inculcated throughout this particular period. Alternately, I am aware that I have no absolute reason to justify the score that I received in session 1. For the period, my overall grade did not fulfill the limit that the institution had set. Simply, I attained a C grade but was unable to get a clearance in order to complete my degree.  On the other hand, I still believe that I was able to prove that I am a hard working student. Accordingly, the university’s contract ruled against receiving a grade that was below C. Despite this, I still attained this in the first session.

Nonetheless, I am aware of my capability to surpass this grade and attain even higher scores. For this reason, the second summer session proved momentous for me. I followed up on every mistake I imposed during the last session. Furthermore, I studied hard and employed techniques that exerted me beyond my limit. Apart from this, I dedicated my days as well as nights to my curriculum regardless of the fact that I was averting sleep on numerous occasions. Eventually, all my hard work and devotion to my studies paid off. I received a GPA score of 2.07 and surpassed the limit set by the university. Regardless of my stringent efforts and my dedication towards academic achievement, the dismissal letter renders all of my endeavors useless and ineffective. Because of the discharge, the university cannot provide me with an opportunity for reinstatement. Even though this is mandatory as per the regulations of the institution, the depiction of my positive results shows that I am liable for another chance. In fact, for the whole summer, I worked considerably hard in order to satisfy the threshold established by the university. In spite of this, it is difficult for me to be reinstated.

I would like to beseech the campus to look at my situation from a new perspective.  For my hard work and the new GPA that I attained at the end of summer session 2, I have proved that I am more than capable of succeeding within this fine institution. In addition, I have shown that I can concentrate on my studies, carry out my external tasks proficiently, and still have the strength to rise to the occasion and propel the institution to academic echelons. To this end, I admit that I love this university and it would be a positive milestone if a graduate with a strong degree from this institution. If you offer me a chance at readmission, I will concentrate more on my studies and manage my personal time wisely. Please, understand that the low scores that influenced my dismissal do not show that I am a dire student.
